Why Isn’t Emmerdale on ITVX Tonight? Soap Pulled from Air in Latest Schedule Shake-Up
Viewers settling down for their usual Emmerdale fix have been left disappointed once again. The ITV soap has been taken off air tonight (Tuesday) due to a major sports schedule change.
The long-running drama usually airs Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, with eager fans able to stream new episodes early from 7am on ITVX and YouTube. However, this evening’s episode has been scrapped to make way for live football coverage.
ITV will instead broadcast live from Latvia, where Thomas Tuchel’s England side take on their latest opponents in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Coverage begins at 7pm, with kick-off at 7.45pm and the broadcast continuing until 10pm.

Another Schedule Disruption for Soap Fans
This isn’t the first time Emmerdale has been bumped from the schedule. Just last week, fans missed out on Thursday’s hour-long episode for the same reason—more live football.
The soap will return tomorrow (Wednesday) at its usual 7.30pm slot, picking up where the storylines left off. ITV has not announced any changes to the rest of the week’s episodes.
Viewers Vent Their Frustration
Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration about yet another delay to their favourite soap.
One viewer wrote: “Are you serious, #Emmerdale #ITV? Tomorrow we finally get #Robron back after that drought, and now there’s no episode again on Tuesday?”
Another added: “Good evening and welcome to another reminder that there’s no episode again tomorrow due to yet more football.”
