Soap Opera Comings and Goings: Big Recast, Happy Return

Here are the latest comings and goings casting news from all five daytime dramas: The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless, and Beyond the Gates.

The Bold and the Beautiful Casting
A Forrester who disappeared from the canvas is finally resurfacing on B&B. Brayan Nicoletti has taken over the role of Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and (Thorsten Kaye) Ridge’s son, RJ. The character, previously portrayed by Joshua Hoffman, last appeared on screen in October 2024. (Find out what happened to the long-missing, first family of fashion heir here.)

Days of our Lives Casting
After a long break, Judi Evans is back on the DAYS scene as Bonnie Kiriakis. (The actress feared she was permanently off the canvas a year ago, when Bonnie suffered a tragic elevator accident.) Look for the character to receive bad news from Lauren Koslow’s Kate on Wednesday, January 7. The actress made her last appearance in October 2025.

Peter Porte continues his stint as Dimitri Von Leuschner. Check out some interesting facts about Porte. He interacts with Greg Rikaart’s Leo and Al Calderon’s Javi on Monday, January 5. Porte also faces off with Emily O’Brien’s Gwen on Tuesday, January 6, and Friday, January 9.

Bryan Dattilo has wrapped up his holiday visit as Lucas Horton. The character has left Salem, but the door has been left open for his return at a later date.

The Young and the Restless Casting
Trouble escalates for the Newman family this week on Y&R. Look for Roger Howarth to get prominent airtime as Matt Clark/Mitch Bacall as his storyline reaches a peak. He shares scenes with Tamara Braun’s Sienna on Monday, January 5, and appears throughout the week. (Y&R fans are torn about the character’s return, after being declared dead some 20 years ago.)

Catherine Kresge is back as Annie Stewart. The crooked L.A. cop interacts with Howarth’s Matt and Braun’s Sienna on Monday, January 5.

John Rushing returns to the scene as Mortonson, the Newmans’ ace security guard. He interacts with Peter Bergman’s Jack, Michael Mealor’s Kyle, Howarth’s Matt, and Mark Grossman’s Adam on Friday, January 9.

General Hospital Casting
Chris McKenna is back on GH as duplicitous WSB honcho Jack Brennan. The character corners Kelly Thiebaud’s Britt on Monday, January 5, and interacts with Laura Wright’s Carly.

Jon Lindstrom gets more airtime as Dr. Kevin Collins. He shares powerful scenes opposite Genie Francis’s Laura on Monday, January 5. Lindstrom, who also plays Joey Armstrong on Beyond the Gates, weighed in on the logistics of appearing on two soaps.

James Patrick Stuart continues his run as Valentin Cassadine. Look for the character to collaborate on a new plan with Wright’s Carly on Tuesday, January 6.

Paige Herschell returns as Jacinda. The former sex worker interacts with Kate Mansi’s Kristina on Monday, January 5. Herschell opened up about her run on the soap and what it’s meant to her.

Nazneen Contractor reappears as Justine Turner. The Port Charles district attorney gets more airtime as Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) trial continues.
