EastEnders’ Johnny Carter and Callum Highway are at odds next week, when Tim Walton asks an illegal favour in exchange for saving Johnny’s failing business. Things get even worse when Callum’s husband Ben Mitchell sends over some documents from prison that signify the end of an era…

Last year, Johnny and Callum decided to start a relationship, and caused chaos when heartbroken Ben discovered that his husband was seeing someone else while on day release from jail.

Tim, an old associate of Johnny’s, then came into the picture and the pair decided to go into business together. Callum was wary about Tim’s true intentions, but Johnny moved forward with this new partnership.

What Tim is really up to hasn’t yet been revealed, but a scene late last year with Johnny suggested that Tim could be more interested in Callum for some reason…

Next week, Johnny reveals to Callum that Tim has requested a meeting with them, as Johnny is struggling to keep the business afloat and needs a larger investment. Reluctantly, Callum tags along to the meeting but is left shell-shocked when Tim asks an illegal favour of the couple.

“Callum tried to tell Johnny that going into business with dodgy Tim was a mistake, but he didn’t listen,” says our EastEnders insider. “Callum’s a man of the law, and doing anything suspect could get him in serious trouble at work. He point-blank refuses to do Tim’s bidding and storms out of the meeting.”

Later on, Johnny finds Callum looking at the divorce papers he’s been served by his husband Ben. This is a hard moment for Callum as this officially marks the end of his marriage, but Johnny isn’t happy and this leads to another explosive row between the boyfriends.

After Callum coldly asks Johnny to leave, they still fail to agree on what to do about Tim’s shady request – but when Callum offers to help find new investors, the ice between them melts.

Just as Callum and Johnny seem to be on the same page again, an old friend of Ben’s shows up with a very concerning request. Are Callum and Johnny in hot water, and what does imprisoned Ben want from them?
