Awkward Introductions

BTG’s weekly video preview gets off to a cringey start when Izaiah (David Lami Friebe) reconnects with Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and introduces him to Hayley. “Been a long time, Izaiah,” Bill states. “Is Hayley your niece?” Izaiah asks. Bill manages to sidestep the awkward question and proudly responds, “Hayley’s my wife.”

Meanwhile, Hayley (Marquita Goings) doesn’t let this exchange bring her down, as she immediately sets her sights on Izaiah and makes her intentions known. Not to Elon’s son, however. “I’m on a side quest right now. Getting to know a certain police chief’s fit and fine youngest son,” Hayley probably tells her cousin Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) on the phone.

Secrets and Other Articulettes

In other BTG news, Vernon (Clifton Davis) and Sharon (Bonita Brisker) forget about hotel room hangs. This week, they’ll meet out in the open. “Look at you,” Sharon says with admiration. “We can’t let our meetings get back to Anita,” Vernon reminds the Articulette after sitting down at the table.

If he doesn’t want this particular meeting to get back to Anita, then why does it look like Vernon and Sharon are sharing space at what looks like Uptown? Sure, they are sitting in a booth in the back, but anybody in Vernon’s family could stumble upon this get-together.
