Boston Blue’s Second Episode Delivers Grit and Emotion as Teammates Are Tested Like Never Before
Boston Blue returned this week with a new episode: Teammates. The series’ second episode focuses on partnerships, friendships, and relationships.
It begins with one of the most important relationships in the show, Danny and Sean Regran. We see them at Fenway Park enjoying some the game for some father/son bonding time. Their fun day quickly takes a turn when a body is found outside of the baseball game. The two hear the shots and go running towards the danger. Danny tells Sean to call it in, and just like that we have our week’s case.

Complicated Ponzi Scheme
The guy who was murdered? His name is Winston and heblew the whistle on a Ponzi scheme. It’s complicated. He’s turned states witness. It should be easy to figure out who murdered him, right? Well, not so fast. The guy who ran the Ponzi scheme, Malakov, was also murdered.
This definitely complicates things for Danny and Lena. Since Danny is technically still on loan, he’s able to work the case with her. He seems to be actually enjoying his time in Boston and working with Lena.
Winston’s murderer was successful because cops left him alone. They left their assigned posts and broke protocol. One left early to take care of her child (more on that later) and another cop was late to his post. It turns out that the cop who was late was paid off by Harold Baca. But Baca wasn’t the only one guilty here.
To make things more complicated, his sister, Naomi, (also Winston’s wife), was involved. She didn’t want to give everything up. She was mad that her husband had gone states evidence and she was going to cause her to lose her fabulous lifestyle. Wow. What a piece of work!
We hope she spends a very long time behind bars.
Lena and Danny worked really well in this case with help from Sarah. It was good police work, and it definitely reminded us of Blue Bloods. The way that Danny and Lena are able to work with each other, reminds us of the way he works with Maria. Baez and Reagan will always be supreme, but we’re definitely excited to see how these two work together.

Sarah and Syvlia’s Friendship
The cop we mentioned earlier – the one that left her post early – was Sarah’s old partner and friend, Sylvia. Sylvia’s child needed her and as a parent she left. SHe made a mistake leaving her post. She knows that.
Sarah understands that and knows if she asks for Sylvia’s badge, then she won’t be able to take care of her child. We’re glad the show focused on this issue. In every profession, parents have to juggle work and their families, and sometimes it feels impossible. Finding solutions also that allow parents to be there for their child is also very difficult.
Boston Blue wasn’t afraid to take the issue head on.
Sylvia did make a mistake and she realizes that. If she hadn’t left her post early, then Winston may not have been killed. She knows that her actions have consequences and goes to Sarah.
