One way or another, the end is near for Days of Our Lives‘ Stephanie. Her stalker has finally struck, she’s been kidnapped and we’re about to learn who’s really been terrorizing her and Alex. And with revelation, hopefully we’ll get resolution — particularly one where Stephanie gets to safety and the stalker is thrown behind bars for a long, long time!
After Monday’s episode, everyone but a few of Jeremy’s family members fully believe he’s been doing all this. And that, as we all know, very much includes Stephanie! But it’s not a done deal just yet. Abigail Klein spoke with Soaps about the whole messy situation and we asked how her alter ego would handle it if Jeremy actually is innocent!
“Stephanie is definitely convinced that Jeremy is behind this,” she insisted, before adding with some amusement, “because, I mean, he’s ambidextrous, so that tells you all you need to know.”
OK, fair enough, that is one of the flimsier arguments as to his guilt, but it is the clue that started everyone down this path! And things have piled up quite a bit since then! And yeah, “Their history is really toxic and terrible,” Stephanie’s portrayer added, “so she wouldn’t put it past him, let’s say.”

But we haven’t learned who actually nabbed Stephanie just yet. And while it doesn’t look good for Jeremy — the cops can’t find him and the CCTV footage from Halloween is pretty bad — this isn’t over just yet. That’s despite Jada’s insistence that they have absolute proof! After all, Jeremy was about to leave town of his own accord, and the guy in the scientist costume who tried to stab Alex was wearing a mask.
In other words, this is all tying together far too neatly to not have another twist left. So if Jeremy isn’t behind this all, what then?
Well, if Stephanie survives it all, and, Klein shared, “it does come out that he didn’t do this and he hadn’t been writing her all these letters, I think she would just leave well enough alone. I think that they had their run and I think the fact that he left town was probably the best thing to ever happen the first time around.”

So Jeremy’s innocence wouldn’t lead to a reconciliation. Instead, “I think she would just try to steer clear from him. I’m sure she would forgive [him] for herself and so that there would be closure, but I think she would leave well enough alone.”
Right now, we just have to wait and see. According to spoilers, Stephanie’s finally getting a glimpse of her stalker (and kidnapper) on Tuesday — but unless she can actually free herself by Friday, it looks like she’s not going anywhere this week. That’s good news, at least, that her life’s not in any immediate jeopardy just yet. After all, her stalker wants Alex dead, not her!
At the end of the day, Stephanie just “wants her autonomy back,” Klein shared. “She wants to start living [her life], and she doesn’t want to live in fear.” And who wouldn’t? The good news is, it looks like we’re in the end game with her stalker. The bad? This tale is far from over, and until it is, Stephanie is still in grave danger.
