Post-WinterFest, things seem to be brewing between Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Marcel (Darryl W. Handy). However, every time they interact, it’s hard to tell whether they’re flirting or about to partner up for something nefarious. “I mean, we do cross paths a lot,” Leslie observes. “That has to mean something,” Marcel responds by mentioning how they’re tempting fate.

Cut to the shady detective reporting back to his boss, Police Chief Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik). “You know, she clocked me, so I took the charm offensive.” “Still not the move,” Elon replies, sounding unhappy with his detective. The original orders were to watch Leslie closely and make sure she doesn’t hurt anyone. Is anything going to happen between Leslie and Marcel?

Father/Daughter Session

Dani (Karla Mosley) is looking fierce while she drops in on her father, Vernon Dupree (Clifton Davis). She sounds like she’s fishing for something. “Can’t a daughter just drop by to see her beloved father without an ulterior motive?” she inquires. To which Vernon quickly throws back a “No.”

Romantic Evening

Elsewhere in the DMV, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) are in a hotel room. And Jacob’s fishing for compliments. “You feeling that, or am I doing too much?” The detective set up a romantic evening. There are lit candles in the room. Rose petals are on the bed and on the floor in front of the bed. And Naomi is liking what she sees. How can we tell? She gives a flirty laugh, and the next second, the two are kissing.

Jacob and Naomi have been struggling ever since she thought she might be pregnant. However, they’re attending couples counseling and doing the necessary work. So maybe it’s paying off.

Wonderful WinterFest
There’s a quick interlude after Jacob and Naomi, where the action cuts to WinterFest, and the guests, including Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon, are standing and applauding for special guest star Keke Wyatt. But that’s not how the promo for December 8-12 ends.

Purely Poisonous
A couple that’s not quite working out is Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Hayley (Marquita Goings). Hayley’s plan to become a black widow seems to be working. In his office at the law firm, Bill is lying on the floor, unconscious. “Bill, wake up!” Hayley yells.
