Chicago Fire season 14, episode 2 recap: Vasquez has some dark secrets md20

Vasquez needs to prove himself, but does he go too far?
With the introduction of Vasquez and the knowledge that he has constantly changed career paths and firehouses, Chicago Fire season 14, episode 2 delves a little more into it. It’s clear that Vasquez has a lot that he’s hiding, and hopefully, it won’t take too long to find out what that is.We open the episode at the shooting range, where Vasquez is getting some training in. Its clear that he would have preferred to get a job in the police academy, so what made that impossible? When people he was at the academy with asks about his family, this is a sore spot and is sure to come up.
Kidd and Severide need to make a choice in Chicago Fire season 14, episode 2
Kidd and Severide have decided that they will foster the teenage boy in the group home, and it should be a fostering situation. The boy’s mom had medical issues, which led to her son Isaiah having nobody to care for him. It’s a tough spot to be in, and the two attempt to connect with him.
Back at the firehouse, the two discuss what their options are with this boy. Are they the right people to take him in, as he may need more than they can offer. But what if somewhere to stay and having two people who care about him to watch out for him is all that he needs? This is a risky part of fostering, and I love that Severide is up for this. I don’t think there was any debate on Kidd wanting that.
As Vasquez gets to the firehouse, he gets a collect call from a penitentiary, but he doesn’t take it as Novak and Cruz walk in. We get the update that Dwayne is out of the ICU. This is surely the way that the show is going to write Ritter out.
Elsewhere at the firehouse, Herrmann talks with Mouch about Molly’s. With the price of everything going up, Molly’s is struggling, and he’s stressed about it. The conversation can’t go anywhere, though, as the entire firehouse is called out to a fire at a junkyard, which includes a school bus. As they walk through the junkyard to find people who could be trapped, a gas canister squeals.
